Poor turnout of MLAs at meet

While most legislators cited the ongoing sessions as an excuse, the few MLCs and the Legislative Council Chairman, Veeranna Mathikatti, who came midway suggested that the Working Committee can be finalised by Friday. Poor attendance was also attributed to the Congress Legislative Party meeting convened on the same day.

Referring to the low attendance, Congress Party MLC S M Anand said, “As we can see, the issue needs to be addressed by more legislators. We can even invite the Chief Minister for the meeting.”

The meeting was organised by the legislators along with the UNICEF and the Karnataka Child Rights Observatory (KCRO). “We request all those in the field, to send the queries and problems that plague children’s rights in our society,” said MLC Manohar Maski.
