Campaign for peace between India, Pakistan

Tennis player Rohan Bopanna handing over T-shirt with his signature to students as part of the ‘Stop war, start tennis’ campaign at Coorg Dental College in Virajpet on Monday.

Acknowledging the felicitation extended by the Coorg Dental College here on Monday, he said, “we would make efforts to strengthen the relationship between India and Pakistan through sports. Our main objective is to bring harmony by setting aside all difference between two nations.”

He said that the real picture of Pakistan can be obtained only after visiting the nation. “Only through interaction with the people of Pakistan one can understand more than what we have read about Pakistan,” he added.

Talking about his tennis career, he said that he could achieve success through dedication and confidence. “I have been in the tennis filed for the last 11 years and could earn fame only because of the support of my parents and wellwishers,” he said.

Bopanna unveiled the trophy of the Coorg Coffee Cup cricket tourney to be organised by the College from February 17 to 21. He also inaugurated the digital radiography unit of the college on the occasion.

He handed over a T-Shirt with his signature to students  as part of the ‘Stop War, Start Tennis’ campaign.
