Imran, allegedly involved in petty crimes, was in love with a girl in Goripalya area.
He left Bangalore when the girl’s uncle and parents threatened him with dire consequences. He had a verbal duel with them before leaving Bangalore, police added.
Imran returned to the City a couple of days ago to take part in Id celebrations.
He was participating in a procession at Goripalya when the girl’s uncle Shadir and his associates Goodu, Allah Baksh, Ziaullah and others decided to settle scores with him after they noticed him in the procession. They too joined the procession carrying lethal weapons, police said.
They attacked him when he was dancing in the procession near CAR Grounds.
He sustained injuries on his head when he fell down while trying to escape.
He was rushed to hospital by unidentified men.
