EU business & technology centre in City

This is fourth such centre by EU in India after Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.

Briefing reporters, EU Head of Delegation Ambassador Daniele Smadja said will work towards technology transfer between EU & India for promotion of clean technologies in India as also facilitate entry of EU small and medium businesses explore partnerships with Indian counterparts. The focus will be on envrionment, energy, biotech and transport sectors, she added.

The EU, she said, has apportioned €16 million spread over seven years from October 2008 to February 2017 for the various activities of the four centres in India which will work towards enhancing two-way trade between EU and India as also facilities companies for exploring a base for manufacturing, R&D and potential joint venture partnerships.

Incidentally, the centre also signed a MoU with the Bangalore Chamber of Industry & Commerce for enhancing business and technology cooperation between EU and India.
