CM predicts new era with farm budget

Speaking at a function here on Sunday, the chief minister said the primary objective of the first of its budget was to redress the long felt needs of the farmers.

He said the budget incorporates measures to extend farm credit and other benefits necessary to rejuvenate the farm sector.

Legislator V R Sudarshan said the government, instead of blaming earlier dispensations, should earnestly take up a permanent irrigation project in the parched districts of Kolar and Chikkaballapur.

District in-charge minister Shobha Karandlaje, Home and Transport Minister R Ashoka and others were present.
