Life in a village

Suvarna Channel presents the second season of its popular reality show — Pyate Hudgeer Halli Lifu.

The show premiered on February 28 and airs every day at 8 pm. It is directed by Akul Balaji, who was the director of the earlier show, which ran for eight months and won the hearts of over six crore Kannidigas across the State. Akul Balaji also won the Big Television Award for Best Direction for the show.

Twelve girls, from the city, will be taking part in the reality show.  The main attraction this time around, according to the channel’s officials, is the fact that the show has been shot in the village of Karakal Matti, located in the picturesque and historical town of Bagalkote, in Badami Taluk, Uttara Karnataka.

The village is famous for its hot climate and jolada roti. The 12 girls will be spending 65 days in this interesting village and experience its earthy beauty, and enjoy the other attractions of Uttara Karnataka.

Suvarana Channel’s business head Anoop Chandrashekar promises that this season will be even more entertaining than the first one.  The channel’s non-fiction head Raghavendra Hunusuru says that this time around too, the main objective of the reality show is to capture the various facets of village life in all its colour and depth.

Further, says Raghavendra, the show seeks to highlight how misguided youth, in the belief that city life is better than village life, are leaving their homes. The show will also bring to the viewers, the quintessential flavours of the Uttara Karnataka language, life and intimate local janapada culture of the region.
