"We believe Taliban should be contained. It is in the interest of Pakistan, it is in the interest of the whole world because Taliban spreads nothing but violence. It is a dreaded terrorist organisation," he said here when sought his reaction on developments in Pakistan.
Under pressure from Washington, Pakistan has announced a fresh "decisive" military offensive against the Taliban.
US President Barack Obama met Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari and his Afghan counterpart Hamid Karzai at the White House yesterday to forge a common strategy to deal with a resurgent Taliban and threat from al-Qaeda, whose leaders have found a safe haven in the two countries.
