Khadi was the symbol of self-esteem during freedom movement. Introduction of uniform is an effort to restore that sense of pride,” said Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr Patil, while speaking at a seminar at N D Degree College here on Friday.
Apart from this, singing National Anthem will be made compulsory at all the law colleges and the University campus.
The Vice-Chancellor has decided to receive only books as mementos and they would become property of the University library. So far his collection of 769 books are kept in the library.
Justices M N Venkatachalaiah, Shivraj Patil, M Rama Jois and Santosh Hegde have accepted his invitation to be the visiting faculty for the University.
