Quoting Egyptian judicial officials Al Arabya channel reported that a judge turned down the appeal moved by lawyers of the Mubarak family who had sought suspension of the order to give more time to the family to respond to the notice.

The channel said the authorities did not confirm or deny the reports.

Mubarak, who ruled Egypt for 30 years, is said to be ailing with cancer. He stepped down from office on February 11 following massive protests demanding his ouster.

The former Egyptian president, his wife and two sons have also been barred from leaving Egypt.
