SIT raids FSL office in Ahmedabad

Last Updated 08 March 2011, 17:55 IST

Sources said that a SIT team led by one of its members Satish Verma raided the FSL office and confiscated a hard disk from a computer allegedly containing details of the forensic evidence in the case.

Teenager Ishrat Jehan was killed along with three others in an encounter on the outskirts of Ahmedabad on June 15, 2004 after the Ahmedabad police claimed they were on a mission to kill Chief Minister Narendra Modi. However, relatives of those killed in the encounter alleged that it was fake, prompting the Gujarat high court to appoint the three-member SIT headed by Delhi police officer Karnail Singh. Though SIT officials refused to comment on the nature of the raids, sources revealed that some important photographs related to the case have been recovered from the hard disc.
