Raja Seat gears up for flower show

A model of a water falls is being created at Raja Seat which is gearing up for flower show.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Horticulture department Deputy Director Shivamurthy said the flower show will be held in the end of April if the region gets pre monsoon showers.  

There is shortage of water to maintain the flower bearing plants in Raja Seat. In this background, it has been decided to dig a borewell to solve the shortage of water, he informed. Ravi who was working in Lalbhagh in Bangalore has taken charge as the state zonal level assistant director. He has the experience in growing varities of plants at Lalbhagh. Now he is trying to give a new look to the Raja Seat with his experience from Lalbagh. Colourful pillars and bins have been placed on either side of the entrance to the Raja Seat. In fact, the authorities are planning to grow flower bearing plants in the bins. A model waterfalls has also been created in the Raja Seat. The Tourism department had sent a proposal to the horticulture department on acquiring five acre land adjacent to the Raja Seat to provide basic facilities. A proposal of Rs 1.38 crore was submitted to the government. The government has released Rs 20 crore for the purpose. The five acre land belongs to C and D category. Hence, the government’s permission is essential for the acquisition. After the acquisition process, the horticulture department will think of extending the park. The department is also planning to get flowers from Bangalore and Pune for the flower show.
