PM tries to allay fears of Christians

The PM gave this assurance when a delegation led by Catholic Secular Forum (CSF), a Mumbai based NGO, met him here. The delegation comprising Archbishop Vincent Concessao of Delhi, Justice Michael Saldanha, CSF General Secretary Joseph Dias and Truth Seekers International president Sunil Sardar raised the issue of increasing violence against minority community by the saffron brigade in Karnataka ever since the BJP government came to power.

The PM also promised that he would ask Home Minister P Chidambaram to look into the complaint against BJP government about increasing violence against minority community.
On extending scheduled caste category benefits to Dalit Christians and Muslims, the PM said the government was trying to get consensus on this issue among various stake holders. Once this was done, the Supreme Court would be intimated of the government’s stand.
