Ponting first World Cup captain to score 1,000 runs

Ponting's world cup performance in India, however, has not been all that good. In nine games, he has made 260 runs at an average of 28.88 at a strike rate of 69.89.

* Brad Haddin (65) has recorded his highest innings at the World Cup, 55 against New Zealand at Nagpur last month being his previous best. He has 13 50s in the ODIs and this is his first against Kenya.
* Kenya (264 for six) have recorded their highest World Cup total, surpassing their 254 for seven against Sri Lanka at Kandy in 1996. This is also their best against Australia in ODIs.
* Australia, with their 60-run win in Bangalore, have maintained their unbeaten record against Kenya. Their previous two World Cup victories over Kenya were by 97 runs at Visakhapatnam in 1996 and by five wickets at Durban in 2003.
* Clarke enjoys an outstanding world cup record, averaging 101.83 -- 611 in 15 matches at a strike rate of 96.83. His 93 Sunday is Australia's second highest against Kenya.
* Clarke's brilliant 93 is his highest World Cup score, equalling his identical score against the Netherlands at Bassetere and bettering 92 against South Africa, both in the last World Cup in the West Indies. His is the second best score for Australia against Kenya in the ODIs after Mark Waugh's 130 at Visakhapatnam in 1996.
* Clarke has become the second player to register three scores in the nervous nineties at the world cup. Sachin Tendulkar was the first to register this unwanted feat -- 98 against Pakistan at Centurion and 97 against Sri Lanka at Johannesburg in 2003 and 90 against Australia in Mumbai in 1996.
* Clarke has recorded his sixth fifty at the world cup and the 47th in ODIs.
* Kenya, since beating Canada by seven wickets at Gros Islet in 2007, have lost seven games in a row in the world cup
* Kenya have lost all five ODIs, including three world cup games, to Australia.
* Australia, with 54 wins in the world cup, have extended their record.
* The 114-run fifth-wicket stand between Michael Hussey and Michael Clarke is Australia's highest against Kenya in the ODIs. The partnership is Australia's second highest for the fifth wicket in the world cup -- 138 between Michael Bevan and Stuart Law against West Indies at Mohali in 1996 being the best.
*The 89-run stand between Haddin and Ponting is Australia's highest for the second wicket against Kenya in the ODIs. Their highest for the second wicket in the world cup is 144 between Trevor Chappell and Kim Hughes against India at Nottingham in 1983.
* Kenya have accomplished a feat, which no other team has in the history of the world cup. They recorded seven sixes in an innings against Australia here. The only other occasion they hit seven sixes in a World Cup innings is against Sri Lanka at Kandy in 1996.
* The 86-run partnership between Collins Obuya and Thomas Odoyo for the fifth wicket is Kenya's highest against Australia in the ODIs. The said stand is also the highest in the World Cup for Kenya.
* Obuya has received his second Man of the Match award, the first being for his five for 24 runs in the 2003 World Cup against Sri Lanka at Nairobi.
* Obuya now holds both the records -- highest individual innings and the best bowling in an innings -- for Kenya in the World Cup.

* Michael Hussey (54 off 43 balls) has posted his first fifty in the World Cup, bettering the 37 against New Zealand at St. George's in 2007. This is his 37th half-century in the ODIs and his fifth in India.
* Australia have managed to post fourteen totals of 300 or more in the World Cup -- a record by any team.  They have won all the matches when they have posted 300 or more. The 324 for six here is also their best against Kenya in the ODIs, surpassing 304 for seven at Visakhapatnam in 1996.
* Nehemiah Odhiambo (3/57) has recorded his best world cup figures, bettering the 2 for 45 against Canada in Delhi last week.
* Tanmay Mishra (72) has registered his career-best innings in the ODIs, his previous being 51 against Canada in World Cup in Delhi last week..
* Obuya's unbeaten 98 off 129 balls is his highest score in the world cup, bettering his 52 against Sri Lanka in Colombo earlier this month. This is ninth fifty in the ODIs. This is also his highest for Kenya in the world cup, bettering Steve Tikolo's 96 against Sri Lanka at Kandy in 1996.
* Kennedy Otieno's 85 at Visakhapatnam in 1996 was the previous highest for Kenya against Australia in ODIs.
