Kidnapped doctor rescued, three arrested

The accused are Prakash, Kempegowda and Shivanna, while the victim is Dr Sadashivachar.

According to the police, the prime accused Prakash was a tenant at one of the Sadashivachar’s houses for  four months and had vacated the house recently.

On Friday afternoon, he brought a person to show the house for rent.  During discussion with Sadashivachar, a few unidentified persons barged inside the house, joined Prakash and started arguing. Later, they took away Sadashivachar, said the police.
In the evening, Dhanalakshmi, Sadashivachar’s wife received a call that her husband was kidnapped by their earlier tenant Prakash.

A few minutes later, she received another call and was told to bring Rs 2 lakh near Bagalakunte bus stand towards releasing her husband.
She immediately alerted the police.

Based on the call details, the police launched a search operation and arrested the accused near Hesaraghatta tank.

The accused have been remanded to judicial custody.

Counterfeit notes seized
Hoskote Police arrested two persons and recovered two counterfeit notes of Rs 1000 recently. The accused are Madaruddin and Sujjal, both residents of Jharkhand State.
On a tip off, the police arrested them near the old bus station when they were trying to circulate the notes. On interrogation they revealed that two persons named Alim and Ijabul in Jharkhand had sent them to exchange counterfeit notes in Karnataka. Alim and Ijabuddin are absconding, said the police.

Life term for three
A fast track court in Virajpet awarded life imprisonment to three persons in connection with a murder case.

According to police, Manoj Kumar, C P Janardhan and B A Rafique, followed a KSRTC bus in a car towards Mysore in which Gopinath was travelling on February 7, 2002 . They kidnapped him when the bus stopped at Hunsoor. Later, they robbed him of his valuables, killed him and threw the body in a well at Attur village and absconded. The CID took up the investigation and filed the charge sheet. V P Ramesh was the public prosecutor.
