Special team to check diesel theft: IGP

Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, he said the theft was an organised act and has been carried out in a systematic manner.

Several people were involved in the act. “The district border will not come in the way of cracking the crime,” he clarified.

He said a special team under DySP Vedamurthy has been constituted to look into the diesel pilferage act.

The best personnel are in the team. They are working round the clock to crack the case.
“All are cooperating with the police. The detailed report will be available after arresting the culprits,” he added.

IGP Alok Mohan said, Gonibeedu SI Sunil Kumar, Chikmagalur Circle Inspector Siddaiah and Mudigere Circle Inspector Swamy have been kept under suspension on the grounds of dereliction of duty with regard to the diesel theft case.

Uroos

The police department will take elaborate measures for the smooth conduct of uroos at Bababudangiri.

Depending on the situation, the security arrangement will be decided, IGP Alok Mohan  added.
