IT quiz for engineering students

Tata Consultancy Services, the leading IT services, business solutions and outsourcing firm, and the Board for IT Education Standards (BITES), an autonomous agency promoted by the Government of Karnataka in association with IT industries, are rolling out the second edition of the Engineering IT Quiz – TCS Tech Bytes. The quiz is open to engineering students of all streams in Karnataka.

Each institution can send 10 teams (two-members per team) to participate in the regional finals of the quiz through an internal selection process. There is no participation fee. The quiz will focus on application of technology across various sectors and aspects such as:  The technology environment, the business, its people, new trends, legends, etc. It will also focus on emerging areas such as: cloud computing, telecom, biometrics, robotics, etc. besides covering personalia – international and national, software products, history of IT and areas where IT has made an impact.

Second career internship for woman

The Tata group has launched the third edition of Tata Second Career Internship Program (SCIP-III).

Tata SCIP is open for women who have a professional qualification in Management / Accountancy / Law / IT / Design or Engineering, have a minimum of 4 years of work experience and who have taken a minimum of one year or a maximum of 8 years break in their career for personal commitments.

IFIM scholarships for CAT students

IFIM Business School, Bangalore, has instituted a scholarship scheme for meritorious CAT students applying to IFIM for admissions to the academic session 2011 -13. IFIM will offer scholarships valued at 50% of the tuition fees. All students who have scored 80 percentile and above in CAT are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Students can avail the scholarship while applying to the following, 2 year full-time, PGDM programmes at IFIM: Postgraduate diploma in Management (PGDM), Postgraduate diploma in Management - International Business (PGDM-IB) and Postgraduate diploma in Management - Finance (PGDM-Finance). The courses are accredited and approved by AICTE, Ministry of HRD , NBA and AIU.

The beneficiaries of the scholarship will be decided based on the performance of the students in a group discussion and personal interview. If the student has a proven track record in extra curricular activities or in sports, that will be an added advantage.

Certificate course in Chemical Business Management

Summer camp

BASE has announced the opening of admissions to the summer batch of N Skill, the innovative, child centric, activity based programme that enables children to acquire life skills.

The programme comprises activities such as role-play, mind mapping, brainstorming, debate, painting, crafts, etc.  The programme will be offered at all BASE centres in Bangalore, Mysore and Udupi. This is a 15-day programme, conducted on weekdays (Monday - Friday) during summer vacation between 9 am to 1 pm, starting from March 28.
The fee for this course is Rs. 4,500 plus applicable taxes.
