LIfe n death

Ranga Shankara brings yet another new production to Bangaloreans called Antaheen.

The play is in Hindi and is based on Jean-Paul Sartre's famous play, In Camera/ Huis Clos.

It is being directed by Manav Kaul from Mumbai. The play premieres on July 24, 7.30 pm at the Ranga Shankara and will run till    July 26.  There will be two shows on July 26 (3.30 pm and 7.30 pm).

Manav Kaul is a renowned writer and director from Mumbai, who has won much acclaim for his plays like Shakkar ke Paanch Daane, Balli Aur Shambu, Ilham, etc.

Antaheen features well-known actors from Bangalore — Sandeep Shikar, Ruchika Chanana, Mamta Bisht and Jahnavi Kamath.

Based on one of the best of Sartre’s plays, Antaheen talks about how hell is not what we imagine it to be but is something that can be self-created and need not be an after-life destination.

The play tries to seamlessly remove the distinctions between life and death. Tickets, priced at Rs 100, are available at the venue.
