Abirami, the victim, a resident of NGGO colony here, was being allegedly harassed by her school teacher Shahul Hameed, 37, who used obscene language and was forcing her to marry him, Namakkal Deputy Superintendent of Police Velan said.
Abirami informed her parents yesterday about Hameed, who is already married and has three children, he said.
After informing her parents, the victim went to her room where she was later found hanging, he said.
Hameed has been arrested on charges of alleged sexual harassment, he said.
