7th students' literary meet in Mangalore on March 19

According to a press release, renowned litterateur Vasudhendra will inaugurate the conference. Veteran Theatre Artist Sadananda Suvarna will preside. Dr Devaraj K, Principal, SDM Business Management College, Mangalore, will be the chief guest.

Three different student-centred sessions will be held during the conference which will be moderated by the experienced in the field.

In the paper presentation session, two selected students will speak on ‘Bhrastachara, Rajakarana Mattu Sahitya Nirmanada Savalugalu’ (Corruption, politics and the challenges of producing literature) and ‘Madhyamalokada Nagalota Mattu Samajika Swasthya’ (The Media Explosion and the Social Health). Writer and critic Dr Ajakkala Girish Bhat will chair the session.

There will be separate sessions for humour and poetry in the afternoon. Three selected students will present their prize-winning humour articles in the session, which will be moderated by renowned humorist Sri Ku. Go, Udupi.

In the poets’ meet, 10 young poets will present their poems. Poet and artist Sri Ganaraj Kumble from Ramakunja will chair the session.

Prof K Cinnappa Gowda, Registrar, Mangalore University, will deliver the valedictory address at 4 pm. He will also give away prizes to those students who have won the competitions conducted earlier.
