Japan crisis won't stop biz, says Infy

 S GopalakrishnanReiterating this, Infosys CEO S Gopalakrishnan, on Friday, said the company would not be shutting shop in Japan, in the wake of the disaster.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a CII event here, Gopalakrishnan said that there would not be any direct impact on the operations of Infosys in Japan as the company’s revenue from there is just about one per cent of its total revenue.

He said the company would continue its operations there. “Out of around 300 Indian employees in Japan, around 200 have returned to India with their families. Around 30 who remain continue to work at our Tokyo office, while 40 are in Nagoya,” he said. He said that the company’s Japanese staff is working from home and in Osaka. Meanwhile, the clientele in Japan is being serviced from other offices in India, Shanghai and Singapore.
