'Irrigation to Chikkaballapur in 5 years'

NGOs should join hands with Govt in furthering universal education

Speaking after inaugurating a ‘Pratibha Puraskara’ programme organised by K B Pillappa Memorial Endowment here on Saturday, Moily said that measures have been initiated to see that the district gets irrigation facility for farming purposes in the coming five years.
The projects have already been discussed with the officers and ministers concerned and the progress is on the expected lines, he revealed.

The minister said that he has started Mahatma Gandhi Residential School in Karkala for the benefit of rural students and it is his ambition to open a similar institution in Chikkaballapur constituency as well.

Moily, however, said that he has not yet decided on the location.

“Education gives power to masses. Non governmental organisations should join hands with the State in furthering the campaign for universal education,” Moily noted while praising the services rendered by the Endowment in this regard.

Adichunchanagiri branch mutt seer Siddeshwara Swamiji, legislators N Sampangi, N H Shivashankara Reddy, secretary of the Endowment and MLA Bachegowda and others were present.
