'Save sufficient water in Harangi'

He said that the water collected in the reservoir now must be hence utilised carefully.

Addressing the reporters after offering ‘Bagina’ to Harangi, he said that the district has been receiving adequate rainfall every year and the reservoir is being filled but despite this, the farmers in the catchment area face water crisis during dry season.  He said that it is the duty of the officials to see to it that adequate quantity of water is stored in the reservoir for dry season.

He warned that if they fail to provide water to the farmers this summer, then he would stage a protest with the farmers.

He urged the government to show interest in putting up a park in front of the reservoir with the help of private parties, to attract tourists.

“For security reasons, the tourists are not allowed to spot the scene of the water being released from the reservoir to the river. Due to this, the number of tourists visiting the region has gone down. In this view, the tourists must be allowed to view the same,” he said and added that Police department must do the needful to provide adequate security.
