Naxals kill two including Deputy Ranger in Durg

Inspector General of Police (IG) of Durg range R K Vij told PTI over phone that the ultras killed Madhusudan Patil, Deputy Ranger of Navagarh forest range, in Darripara village in Raipur district late last night. According to the IG, Patil was shot dead near his house last night after he was forcibly taken away by around 10 Naxals.

"Police recovered a letter, believed to be written by Manpur Divisional Committee of a naxal dalam, saying that those co-operating with the SPOs and police will meet the same fate," Vij said. According to police, the Naxals had in the past summoned Patil and warned him of staying away from police.

In another incident, the outlaws killed one Sampat Shah in Naxal affected district of Rajnandgaon on Sunday night. Shah was a secretary to former MLA Sanjeev Shah, police said. Shah was pulled out from his shop situated under limits of Manpur police station and shot dead, police said.
