Bypoll: Rich candidates in a poor constituency

Cong candidate is a crorepati and BJPs a lakhpati

Congress candidate from Bangarpet K M Narayanswami is a crorepati, as per the asset declared by him. He is famously known the resort he owns in Bangarpet.

According to the asset declaration made by him to the Election officer, Narayanaswami has Rs five lakh in hand, has given loan of Rs 99.25 lakh to various organisations/individuals.

He has a fleet of vehicles that includes cars, tippers, tractors and JCB whose amount is valued over Rs 1.82 crore. Besides, he has 400 gms of gold (Rs 6.80 lakh), 300 gms of silver (Rs 30,000).

He owns lands in Gollahalli, S N Service Station, S N Tourist and resort. Totally, he has Rs 1.86 crore worth movable property and immovable property worth Rs 50 lakh. The market value of his assets are Rs 3.54 crore.

He has taken loan of Rs 2.60 crore in Canara Bank, Rs 6.40 lakh loan in Pragathi Grameena Bank and he owes Rs 70.50 lakh to organisations/individuals.

BJP candidate’s assets

BJP candidate M Narayanswamy who is contesting in the assembly byelection to be held on April 9 has declared his and his family’s assets.

The details are as follows: He has Rs 1,50,000 in liquid cash, his wife Sarswathamma has Rs 70,000 in cash and his children B N Shashikanth and B N Preethi have Rs 40,000 and Rs 10,000 in cash respectively.

The candidate has cash deposits of Rs 11,000, Rs 67,125, Rs 44,169, Rs 33,939 and Rs 1,532 respectively in SBI, SBM, Apex Bank branches in Bangalore and in Bangarpet’s SBM,  and Kysamballi’s PGB bank.

Narayanswamy has Rs 12 lakh worth LIC policy, and Rs 50,000 worth Ambassador and Rs 11 lakh worth Honda City cars.

Apart from this he has declared that he has gold ornaments worth Rs 1.5 lakh. His land assets includes Rs 60,500 worth two acres land in survey no 30 in Kysamballi, Rs 2,98,500 worth 6.2 acres land and in survey no 42, in survey no 44  Rs 10,500 worth land.  

The other land assets he holds includes Rs 10,500 worth land in survey no 98/1 in Belganahalli.

Including one acre agriculture land, he has 9.3 acre worth Rs 3.80 lakh land. In Kyasamballi he has a house worth Rs 6 lakh.

He has movable property worth Rs 30,77,654 and immovable property worth Rs 16.84 lakh. He has no loans.

His wife Sarswathamma’s assets includes Rs 4,47,749 deposits in Kysamballi’s PGB bank in three separate accounts. She has Rs four lakh worth LIC bonds. One more bond’s details are not available.

She has Rs 12 lakh worth 800 gram gold and Rs three lakh worth 8.5 kg silver. She also has Rs 22,63,445 worth movable property and Rs four lakh worth immovable property. She has taken a loan of Rs 38,585 to purchase a tractor. 

Their son Shashikanth has Rs 50,000 worth 50 gram gold and daughter Preethi has Rs 2.5 lakh worth 80 gram gold.
