Last rites of Vijayalakshmi today

A press release from the AIISH said, the body will be kept at the official residence of the Director on the campus. The staff and students of the institute and other professionals in the field of Speech and Hearing have expressed their deep condolence over the death of Vijayalakshmi Basavaraj.  Vijayalakshmi was the first to secure PhD in Speech and Hearing from the same institute and rose to the position of Director at the alma mater.  She had over 30 years of teaching experience and was among the authority at the national level in the realm. She is survived by her husband media professional Basavaraj, daughter Dr Vibha and software engineer son Savi.

Loss

With the demise of Vijayalakshmi, the field of speech and hearing impaired has lost one of the pioneers and experts, who immensely contributed towards the treatment of speech and hearing disorders and expansion of the organisation.
