JOIN USSexual harassment: SHRC team to arrive 'morrow
The team that would comprise three senior officers has summoned the lady for inquiry, at the office of Director, Civil Rights Enforcement, Siddartha Layout on the day at 11 am. Her husband Dr Vijaykumar has been summoned at 2 pm.
Sources said, the notice informing the arrival of the team was dispatched to the parties in the case from the office of ACP (N R Sub-division) A K Suresh, the investigating officer, through the jurisdictional J L Puram Police. The similar notice has also been sent to the accused in the case and suspended dean of the Department of Zoology, University of Mysore, Prof Shivabasavaiah, Vice-chancellor Prof V G Talawar, besides the registrar totalling eight other parties.
Resumes research
Meanwhile, the lady has recovered and has resumed her research under the guidance of second guide Prof Bhagya. She (victim) has been provided with round the clock security both at her residence and also at the department. Lady police personnel have been deputed to escort her outside.
Another inquiry
The Women’s Harassment Complaint Committee at the varsity that is also conducting an inquiry into the case, has summoned the lady and her former guide in question to appear before the body, on March 29.
In the maiden hearing held a month ago, the victim in the case could not make it owing to ill health. While, the accused in the case had appeared before the panel seeking sufficient time to file his reply. The panel had awarded him (Shivabasavaiah) time till the date of next hearing.
