Health dept to upload staff data online

Last Updated 28 March 2011, 18:01 IST

The database will not only have the number of employees in each hospital and institute in the State, but will also display an employee’s work history, increments and promotions.

While district hospitals started collating information a fortnight ago, the Karnataka Health System Development and Reform Project held a meeting with hospitals and institutes in Bangalore to follow suit.

All hospitals and institutes under the health department and those under the Medical Education department will start collecting information in the prescribed format from Monday.

“Although we have salary wise data, we don’t have a computerised database on the human resources in the department. So we decided to collect the full service data, which will be given by the institutions and each employee,” Health Secretary Dr Ramana Reddy said. The department plans to upload the data by the end of the
month.

The software for the database is developed by National Informatics Centre and will enable the officers to implement the newly amended Cadre and Recruitment Rules.
