The gorgeous Bipasha Basu will be seen in an array of hotshot films this year with Dum Maro Dum’ being her first release of the year.
Portraying the drug mafia of Goa, Dum Maro Dum also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Prateik Babbar and Aditya Panscholi.
The dusky beauty has been busy promoting the film. “It’s a new age film,” she tells Metrolife.
“I loved the script right from the time of the first narration. I looked at the story board and thought the film will turn out great. I must also give credit to my director of photography Amit Roy for making me look good,” she exclaims.
Shooting for film was great fun too. “Everyone on the sets was like-minded. So the energy was just right. Besides, shooting in Goa always helps,” she laughs.
So did she party a lot? “I am not much of a party person. But I love good food and you get the best fish in Goa. I am a Bengali so what more could I have asked for?” she laughs. But is she strict about her diet to maintain that perfect body? “I am a strong girl and I love working out. I work out really heavy so I need massive meals,” she answers.
Bips has been generating a lot of buzz for her first international project — ‘Singularity’.
“The crew is here and I will be shooting for it in a few days’ time,” she says. Bips says ‘Singularity’ has given her a fresh perspective on films.
“It was like going to an acting school as I have never been to one.” What about her co-star, the incredibly hot Josh Hartnett? She laughs and agrees, “Yes he is very hot. In fact during the first few days of shooting, I used to behave like a big-eyed teenager.
Slowly, we became friends and I realised it was time I stopped being a fan and started working. But he is a wonderful guy and very easy to work with.”
Bipasha is also looking forward to ‘Players’ with Abbas Mustan, which is the remake of ‘The Italian Job’. “But they have adapted the screenplay and added their own twists to it to make it suitable for the current time. The visual appeal is much more.” She will be heading to Arctic Pole and St Petersburg soon to shoot for it.
“We have already shot in New Zealand, Bombay and Goa. Arctic Pole is going to be one hell of an experience. And I have heard it’s -35 degrees in St Petersburg. Let’s see how I handle the weather as I am someone who feels cold in Mumbai when the AC is on,” she laughs.
Having travelled all over the world, Serengity in Tanzania is one place that actress would love to go to.
Bips admits that she loves multi-tasking. “I love being busy. I have a passion for health and fitness so I keep trying different workouts. I am also planning to release another yoga DVD by July this year as the first one was accepted well. I also have a Reebok clothing line coming up.”
She adds, “Besides, food is also on my mind so I might do something involved with that.”
So if in future, you see Bipasha dressed like a smart entrepreneur like how she did in her movie ‘Corporate’, just remember, here’s a beauty with brains.
