Kenyan held, narcotics seized

He was staying in India illegally, since 2004.

The accused Mikalu, a resident of Kisumu a port city in Western Kenya, was nabbed while he was trying to sell the narcotic.

Mikalu came to India on a student visa in 1998 and registered for Law course in Dr Ambedkar Law College in Aurangabad. He did not complete the course and indulged in drug trade. He was staying in India illegally as his visa and passport had expired in 2004.

He told the police that he had brought the narcotic consignment thrice from Kenya, through a friend in Pune, and had been selling it in the city.

House burgled

Burglars targeted a Mico official’s house in Hongasandra, New Mico Layout in Electronic City and made away with Rs 3 lakh worth valuables on Sunday.

Ananthram, the complainant has informed the police that he had gone to Velur, Tamil Nadu along with his family and on return, they were shocked to see that some miscreants had burgled the house and decamped with 120 gms of gold and around 1 kg of silver and other valuables.

Labourer murdered

A 30-year-old labourer from Gulbarga was found murdered in Siddapura, Varthur on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Krishna Karimsab. The police said, Krishna was married to Ghousia and this irked many of his friends and often they fought. On Sunday, he was attacked and hacked to death with an axe.

The police have detained Avalappa, one of the co-workers who also hails from Krishna's native place.

One killed in accident

A 65-year-old landlord in Hebbal area died in a road accident, near the Hebbal flyover on Sunday.

Victim Krishnappa succumbed to injuries. The accident occurred around 1.30 pm, when Krishnappa riding a two-wheeler crossed Hebbal railway station and was moving towards Hebbal flyover. A four-wheeler rammed into his bike and he suffered multiple spine injuries and was shifted to hospital. Driver of four -wheeler has been arrested.

Construction worker killed

A 22-year-old construction worker was killed on the spot when he fell from the eighth floor of an under-construction building in JP Nagar on Monday evening. The victim, Devi from Bihar, was staying at a makeshift shed at the construction site opposite Big Bazar in J P Nagar 9th Block.

He had gone to the eighth floor for curing when he lost balance and fell down, said the police.

Body found in drainage

A man’s body was found in a drainage in Bommasandra on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Abraham (35), a resident of Yellammanagar in Attibele taluk. The police suspect he was bludgeoned to death and his body was thrown into the drainage on Sunday night.

BMTC bus rams into shop

Two passengers sustained injuries when a BMTC bus moved onto a footpath and rammed into a shop on Sultanjigunta Road in Shivajinagar on  Monday afternoon.

When the Kalyan Nagar to Shivajinagar (296) bus moved on the footpath, the driver suddenly applied brakes, but two of the passengers sustained minor injuries.

Workers, who were selling the materials at the shop, fled to safer place as they saw the speeding bus coming near the shop. The injured are treated at the Bowring Hospital. No case has been registered.
