Women advised to understand constitutional rights

Varsities must hold workshops to educate students, teachers

Speaking at the valedictory of two-day international seminar on ‘Empowerment of women’ sponsored by University Grants Commission (UGC) here on Tuesday, she said women were not anti-men as they required their support for growth. Both Social studies and economics were interlinked.

All varsities should regularly conduct workshops on social issues as it would benefit teachers as well as students.

Holding workshops in colleges was like transferring knowledge to future generation.

The papers presented in workshops should be brought out in the form of book, she opined.
College principal, Dr J Devakumari presided. Coordinator of PG studies, Dr D J Krishnegowda, Head, Department of Social studies, Dr V Sunita, head, Department of Economics, Dr H K Lalithadevi and Prof Muralidhar and Prof Devappa from Department of Economics were present.
