'Bahuroopi' theatre fest from Apr 6

Amol Palekar, well-known Marathi theatre artiste and film actor, will inaugurate the theatre festival on April 6. Kannada and Culture Minister Govind Karjol will preside over the inaugural programme, announced Rangayana director Lingadevaru Halemane at a press meet on Tuesday.

While the dramas will be staged at 6.30 pm everyday at Bhoomigeetha premises, they will be staged at Kalamandira at 7 pm and at 7.30 pm daily at Vanaranga. Rangayana’s Kannada drama ‘Gora’ will be staged on the first day.

This year’s ‘Bahuroopi,’ is being organised under the name ‘Gurudev - 150.’ An exhibition on Rabindranath Tagore will be organised as part of the theatre fest at the Kalamandira premises. Arrangements for sale of food have also been made at Rangayana for theatre enthusiasts.
