CM's son-in-law moves HC for quashing of lower court order

The fresh batch of applications were filed before the High Court a day after it granted interim stay on the lower court order which had taken cognisance of offences mentioned in the first complaint against Yeddyurappa and his family members and ordered a probe by the Lokayukta police.

Kumar has filed three applications challenging the order of the 23rd Additional Civil and Sessions court which had ordered the Lokayukta probe on March 24. Akka Mahadevi, named as one of the accused in one of the complaints, has also moved the High Court with a similar plea.

The petitions are yet to be listed for hearing. The complaints were filed by two city-based advocates, Sirajin Basha and K N Balaraj, accusing Yeddyurappa and his family members of indulging in irregularities in denotification of lands acquired by Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) and sought their prosecution under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act.
