The Discover 125 is expected to cater to the need of the commuters looking for mileage and power, Bajaj Auto President (Motorcycle Business) S Sridhar told reporters here.
`Discover' is one of the largest selling brands in the Indian motorcycle market with more than 40-lakh owners of this bike all across the country, he said.
"The current Discover volumes stand close to 1.2 lakh units per month and it has already become world's second largest two-wheeler brand. With the launch of this model, we plan to clock volumes of 1.5 lakh per month for fiscal 2011-12," he said.
Discover 125cc will be launched in phases across the country, Sridhar added.
