Rajajinagar Cricketers power past Bangalore SC

Last Updated 01 April 2011, 16:30 IST

Batting first, Bangalore Star CA got off to a horrible start and their slump extended right through the course of their first innings as they were bundled out for a paltry 94 in 29.4 overs.

N Gurucharan was the pick of the Bangalore Star CA’s batsmen, top-scoring with 52 but Rajajinagar’s Srinivas (3/12) and S Sreekumar (4/20) did well enough to reduce them to a bemoaning total.

String of cameos

In Rajajinagar’s first essay, a string of cameos from as many as six batsmen guided them to comfortable 216 all out in 45.4 overs despite a six-wicket surge from Bangalore Star CA’s Suresh NH.

Bangalore Star CA did better in their second stint as they notched up 161 in 28.3 overs but with a mere 39 runs to chase down for the title, it was all too easy for Rajajinagr even if they did lose two wickets.

Brief scores: Bangalore Star Cricket Association: 94 all out in 29.5 overs (N Gurucharan 52; Srinivas 3-12, S Sreekumar 4-20) and 161 all out in 28.3 overs (N Jayanath 26, J Pratheek 42, R Raghavendra 27; HB Raghuveer 4-42, S Sreekumar 2-37) lt to Rajajinagar Cricketers: 216 all out in 45.4 overs (P Arun Kumar 26, S Sreekumar 34, MS Karthik 37, HB Raghuveer 32, MS Manoj Kumar 27, Kiran 29; Suresh NH 6-68) and 43/2 in 8 overs (P Arun Kumar 28 n.o.).
