"The Police Department received 21 alerts (from various security agencies) for the final match, warning that attackers may come through balloon, pipeline, sea or air," Home Minister R R Patil said.

"But police managed to keep the security intact to avoid any untoward incident," he told the Upper House while replying to a debate on law and order situation in the state.

Patil said policemen worn newly acquired bulletproof jackets while on duty during the April 2 match in the backdrop of allegations about faulty vests being provided to the force.

"The Centre had approved 2,000 bulletproof jackets for the police and Force One personnel of which 500 have been received. The police used them during the final match."

The state got 447 alerts related to terror threats last year from various agencies, the Home Minister added.
