One arrested for distributing money to voters

An alleged DMK worker was arrested today while distributing money to voters in violation of the Model Code of Conduct, officials said.

According to Tahsildhar V Balu, election officials got a tip-off that money was being distributed to voters at Thirupurambiyam village in Kumbakonam constituency ahead of the April 13 Tamil Nadu Assembly polls.

Police rushed the spot and arrested the person, Balu said, adding investigations were on to ascertain how much money he carried and distributed.
