Entertainment unlimited

What on earth can happen when all the action heroes of Hollywood come together? A lot of death-defying stunts and bullets in the air, ain’t it? Well! That’s exactly what The Expendables has in store for you.

With a star ensemble that runs like the inventory of the action heroes of Hollywood — Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Steve Austin, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger — the movie is hard hitting, literally.

A band of unruly, unremittingly masculine mercenaries, led by Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), are hired to overthrow the merciless dictator of a small South American island. On reaching their workplace, these men, brimming with confidence and swagger, deliver a lot of action and face challenges that are near impossible, but one never doubts they’ll win in the end.

So proceeds The Expendables. It sure is entertainment unlimited for action movie freaks, but definitely not as appealing as a Stallone movie generally is. Though the film has many action heroes sharing screen space, the wafer-thin plot and boring dialogues spoil the party. Above all, what are high-calibre actors like Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger doing in this flick?
