Speaking on the sidelines of 91st convocation of the University of Mysore, Moily said the draft legislation would be prepared before June 30 to facilitate tabling of the Bill in the monsoon session. “However, the Bill is no different than what the UPA government was planning to bring in to fight corruption,” Moily said.
The Centre had begun to work on the Bill much before social activist Anna Hazare and his supporters began the campaign, demanding the passage of Jan Lokpal Bill in the Parliament. As per Hazare’s demand, the JPC would be constituted before June, he said.
