Give 'Bharatha Ratna' to Nalwadi: BSP

He was speaking at the one-day seminar on the topic ’Rajarshi Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar and his contributions to the society’ at J H Patel Auditorium in Chamarajanagar on Sunday.
He recalled the contributions of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar in the establishment of University of Mysore to encourage educational activities in Old Mysore region, setting up industries and Banks, construction of Krishnaraja Reservoir and other works. Interestingly, the University of Mysore will decorate honour Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar with doctorate, after seven decades of his death.

The BSP would bring pressure on Union Government for a Bharatha Ratna award.
In his address, District Raitha Sangha President A M Maheshprabhu condemned the interference of politics in the announcement of all prestigious awards in the nation.The politicians must stop selecting the person for such covetous award eyeing votebank politics.

The Government must recognise the services of the persons and their contributions to the society while selecting persons for such prestigious award. The  youth should come forward to fight against corrupt politicians in the nation. The ryot leader also condemned the privatisation of drinking water supply system, he added. 

Earlier, a documentary on Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar directed by Prof T B Nanjaraje Urs was shown on the occasion.
