Mazy's mental maze gets trickier and tastier!

Itold her I was thinking. Thinking, as we all know, is an energetic task. It requires lot of energy. I ate three cups of ice cream. This made me just a wee bit drowsy.....and that’s when Mona caught me, literally, napping.

I’ve been thinking of making ice cream at home. I believe people have been making it since the 4th century BC. How many years back is that? Er...that means ...umm...if we are now in the 21st century. So, 20 centuries of AD and 4 centuries of Before That? That’s 24 centuries ago... 2400 years ago!

Today, an American chef on TV had showed how kids could make excellent banana ice cream at home. The funny chef kept saying cool it to such-and-such Fahrenheit, and I only had a thermometer that showed the temperature in degree centigrade.

All I needed to do was to see how much was 32 degree Fahrenheit in degree centigrade?

And how much is 40 degree F? That’s when my head froze! Can you help dear reader?

Out of the maze:

In the Fahrenheit scale used in the United States, water freezes at 32 degrees and boils at 212 degrees Fahrenheit. The difference between the freezing point and boiling point of water is 180.

In India, we use the Celsius or Centigrade system, where water freezes at 0 degrees and boils at 100 degrees centigrade. So the difference is 100 degrees.

To convert from Celsius to Fahrenheit, first multiply by 180/100, then add 32. To convert from Fahrenheit to Celsius, first subtract 32, then multiply by 100/180.
32 degree F = 0 degree C.
40 degree F= 40 - 32 x 100/180 =8 x 10/18 =4.4 degree C.
