111 pvt medical units get nod under KPME Act

DHO Dr O R Srirangappa said that notices have been issued to 70 medical establishments who had failed to register under the Act. The meet decided to take a decision on more than 500 medical establishments in Mangalore taluk by May 31.

Bantwal Taluk Medical Officer informed the meeting that four medical establishments had closed down voluntarily as soon as they received notices. Few centres have requested to consider their establishments as medical centre.

Notices have been issued to 106 establishments under Section 22 of the Act. The inspection team had visited 125 establishments and had submitted a report that 16 are eligible for registration.
