Of which, 5,800 acre land has been given to the beneficiaries. In the remaining 1,800 acre land, 80 acre is with the district administration and the remaining has been encroached. In few places, the encroached land has been earmarked for the school, college, panchayat, play grounds. In many places, the rich and the private persons have encroached the land. The district administration is ready to reclaim the encroached land and distribute it among the beneficiaries, he said.

The district administration has already started the process of identifying the encroached land with the help of taluk administration and a report is being prepared. He said 24 acre land which was reclaimed by the district administration has been handed over to the real beneficiaries.

The DC said owing to the non availability of the land, the proposed Ambedkar Bhavan was delayed in the city. Now the district administration has earmarked two acre land near Urwa High School for the construction of the Bhavan.
