Held over three days, the celebrations for the fest started four days before itself.

Hence, Udbhav turned out to a week-long celebration where in students dressed up according to different themes on each of the days  — like Ethnic Day, Toons Day and Jersey and Hat Day to name a few.

A number of interesting event were held both onstage and offstage.

Treasure Hunt, Clay Modelling, Face Painting, Reporting and Photography were a few events held off the stage.

Other cultural events were Indian Light Music, Dumb Charades, Rock Show, Classical Dance, Indian Group Dance, Step Up, MSRIT’s Got Talent, Western Acoustics, Personality, Spent (sports cum entertainment) and One Act Play to name a few.

The volunteers, clad in their dark blue T-shirts screaming out ‘MSRIT Cult’ at the back, worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth functioning of the fest.

And the participants, of course, were extremely energetic and gave in their best. Said Tanushree, an eighth semester student of computer science engineering, who took part in Clay Modelling, “The topic is anger and I am making a timeline which shows different faces. One is that of a tiger, which shows how a human being becomes when he is angry, and to depict an animal’s anger, I will be carving a snake, which is a feared animal according to Indian mythology.”

The Rock Show was quite a big hit with the students too, with several bands performing on stage.  “Over all, the fest was very well organised,” said Vardhan Dugar, a student who took part in the Indian Group Dance.

“The build-up to it was fantastic too,” he added. Despite it being an intra-collegiate fest, Udbhav seemed more like an inter-college event due to the great platform it provided for the students to showcase their abilities and the number of participants that turned up for each event.

To sum it all, the fest was a big hit and gave the hard working engineering students a much-needed break from their daily routine of studies and tests.
