Speaking at the investors convention held at Suttur taluk as part of 22nd mega convention of Akhila Bharatha Veerashaiva Mahasabha on Sunday, he said they were expecting an investment of ` 10 lakh crore in the State. Many were questioning the government’s capability of providing the necessary power, water, land and other basic infrastructure to the investors.

He said 18,000 MW power would be generated in the coming three years using solar and wind energy, byproducts of sugar cane and other unconventional methods.

The new technology that would produce more using less water would be utilised in the industries and one lakh acres of lands would be acquired in various parts of the state, except Bangalore to set up industries.

A system would come into force where the industries would be allotted land within 24 hours of submitting applications, he added. Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister S Jagadish Shettar, who spoke on the occasion, advised the youth not to go in search of other jobs but to set up industries of their own and create job opportunities.

The government would identify talented youth coming from economically weaker background provide them land at lesser price and also help them by providing investment loan. He pointed out that there are many in Veerashaiva community with sound financial background.

They should make up their minds to begin new industries, he suggested. Twenty four projects have been implemented after the last investors meet held last year. Around 228 industries were in the completion stage. The investment is around 2.91 lakh crore and six lakh people would get job opportunities, he added.
