Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, KSURSSEA State Convenor K V Bhat said that the instead of recruiting new staff, existing faculty members who have been serving for the past seven to eight years should be given preference.

With the association comprising around 9,000 members including teaching staff, chefs, security guards, Bhat opined that the contract system for hiring staff members should be stopped immediately.

He said that more than 600 residential schools name after Morarji Desai and Kittur Rani Chennamma are functioning across the State. He bemoaned that despite giving better results compare to other government schools, the State Government had to yet to wake up to their accomplishments.

Bhat mentioned that despite striving hard for the benefit of the students, the faculty members were yet to be paid salary for nearly six months. He also demanded that bank accounts should be opened for the staff and salary should be directly credited into the accounts.
