Dalit leaders slam ZP CEO for 'negligence'

Speaking to mediapersons here, dalit leader Nagendra alleged that uniforms were not distributed to school children under the purview of Social Welfare Department, Tribal Development Department and Backward and Minority Welfare Department, during the 2010-11 academic year.

He said that even though the schools started in June 2010, students, district and taluk-level officials were left in lurch as the tender process to procure food grains was not initiated at the right  time.

They accused Sathyavati of mentally torturing officials, who were performing their duty. Nagendra said that the aided Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students hostels were performing exceedingly well earlier. But, once Sathyavati was transferred to Mysore, she went ahead and cancelled grants up to the tune of Rs 18 lakh allotted by State Government to the student hostels.

Accusing her of negligence, Nagendra said that students were not given hot water for bath and during power failure, no alternative arrangements were made.
Mentioning that Sathyavati was insulting dalit leaders and didn’t care for the development of the community.

Dharmendra, Krishnamurthy, Manjunath and M Shivanna were present.
