Two-wheelers worth Rs 5.37 lakh recovered

The accused have been identified as Sanaulla, 18 years, son of Ruhulla, Old Masjid Street, T Narsipura and Fayaz, 19 years, son of Khaza Baig, third cross, Mamballi in  Chamarajanagar district. Mechanics by profession, both had stolen the two-          wheelers in Kollegal and T Narsipura. A police team led by Inspector K C Poovaiah noticed them on motorbikes moving in a suspicious manner near the archgate on Lalitha Mahal Road in the city on Monday.

The duo tried to escape upon noticing the police from a distance. The police chased them to a distance and nabbed the two.

Murder: Cops still clueless

The cops are still clueless about the identity of a man who was found murdered in a drain near Doddakere Grounds in the city on Monday. Sources in Nazarbad Police said there are no such commonly found clues upon the body that could help ascertain the identity of the dead. He has succumbed to the injuries suffered on  the back of his head with a boulder. Chances of he being a labourer who may had come to city in search of job cannot be ruled out, the cops added.

Chain snatched

Two bike-borne miscreants have robbed a woman of her gold chain worth ` 50,000 here on Tuesday. Padma, 54, wife of Ramachandra Shastri, Niveditha Nagar is the victim. She was returning home from clinic around 8 pm, when the assailants snatched two chains. One weighing about 20 grams fell off, while another weighing 40 grams was taken away.
