Justice S Muralidhar dismissed Parker's plea on the ground that she did not pursue her plea in the court. "For the last several hearings, none appeared for the petitioner (Parker). It seems she is not interested in pursuing the matter any more," Justice Muralidhar said while dismissing her plea.
Earlier, the Ministry of External Affairs had filed an affidavit before the court saying Parker cannot be issued a fresh passport as she might "misuse" it to help her brother's criminal activities.
"She may travel abroad and misuse her passport for aiding and abetting criminal activities of her brother and his associates and, therefore, keeping in mind the security of India and public interest at large, the passport has not been issued," the affidavit maintained.
