Women told to fight exploitation

Speaking at the anniversary of Bharatamata Mahila Sangha here recently, Savithramma said women could secure equality in society only by raising voice against their oppression. She suggested women to cultivate the attitude to fight against atrocity.

Town Panchayat member Asha Jayappa said more emphasis need to be laid on strengthening women self help groups.

“Self confidence comes through financial empowerment. Hence women groups should focus on income generating activities,” she said.

Lead Bank manager Sundaresh, president of the Sangha Lakshminarasamma, Taluk Panchayat President K Manjula and others were present.
