Quake hits Japan

The quake occurred around 10.50 a.m. and the epicentre was at a depth of 3.70 km, the US Geological Survey said.

The Honshu island, Japan's largest island, is about 600 km northeast of Tokyo.  There was no tsunami, Xinhua reported.
